The Central Government has launched the 'Indigenous Microprocessor Challenge' to promote the Self-Reliant India Campaign in the country. The registration process for participating in this contest has been started from 18th August. PM Modi is being seen as an important step towards a self-reliant India.

The central government has decided to give Rs 1 crore as a reward to the 100 teams that reach each semi-final of the contest.
The 25 teams that reach the final there will also get a total of Rs 1 crore. In addition, the 10 finalists will be given a total seed-fund of Rs 2.30 crore and incubation support for 12 months.

Union Law and Justice Minister, Communications and Electronics as well as Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday announced an innovation compromise and launch for the indigenous microprocessor challenge 'Self-Reliant' India. It aims to give more impetus to the ecosystem in the country according to start-ups, innovation and research. Under this contest, innovators, startups and students are invited to develop different technology products using these microprocessors.
